Choke pull

These close the choke of the Solex carburettor, pulling a wire in a spiral wound sheath.  Surviving cars place this control either on the extreme right or on the left (which provides a convenient straight run to the carburettor).  The Ulster Austin Seven used the same type of choke pulls and reproduction items are available from A7 spares suppliers.  An example of these is included below.

Probably the standard type, as this has been seen on many surviving cars.

(From Chassis 7231)

This type is Solex standard issue, and is nicely labelled. It is the sort of item that can still be found in the autojumbles.

From Chassis 7308.

Chassis 6992

Chassis 7126

If you think this is odd, consider Garry Turner, who won a Guinness World Record in 2004, by clipping 159 clothes pegs onto his face. Get things in perspective.
