Hand Throttle and Ignition Advance
This is a devilish device, crudely made and difficult to adjust properly. When Alvis redesigned the FWD for the 1928 Ulster TT, they introduced a flexible joint into the steering column, which meant that the hand throttle and ignition control could no longer be located on the steering wheel centre. They were therefore placed on the dashboard, and this item is the result. Restorers of the future will have to go to a great deal of trouble to reproduce the standard of lettering found in these examples.
